Joseph Angel Gully Clarendon Shiraz
Wine
Primo Estate Joseph Angel Gully Clarendon Shiraz is sourced from a single parcel of vines at the highest point of the Angel Gully Vineyard at Clarendon in McLaren Vale.
The steep, rocky slopes rise sharply to 300 metres above sea level. The altitude and stony soils result in a small crop of evenly ripened grapes, which are then handpicked.
A small portion of the fruit is air dried in the style of Italian Amarone wines, providing an additional degree of complexity. All the grapes are then crushed into open fermenters. During fermentation, each parcel is manually pumped overs.
Maturation takes place in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels for 18 months before bottling.
Deep ruby, Primo Estate Joseph Angel Gully Clarendon Shiraz has brooding fruit characters balanced by fine tannins and elegant acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
